| ICG Makes Fourth Consecutive Appearance on Virginiars "Fantastic 50" List of Fastest Growing Companies |
For a fourth straight year, International Communications Group (ICG) has been listed among Virginia’s most successful small, entrepreneurial companies. The “Fantastic 50” designees for 2009 are honored each year by the Virginia Chamber of Commerce. The list recognizes the state’s fastest growing companies and salutes their contribution to Virginia’s economic vitality.
ICG has experienced steady growth in revenues and employment over the past four years. It showed up at number 36 in the current “Fantastic 50” rankings, which are based on those two parameters over a four-year period. The company made its first appearance on the list in 2006, ranked at number 39. In 2007 and 2008 ICG ranked among the top twenty. It was ranked 20th in 2007 and moved up to number 17 last year. Companies are nominated for consideration by local chambers of commerce, economic development organizations and small business development centers. To be eligible, they must be privately held, headquartered in Virginia and have sales between $200,000 to $100 million annually.
“To be included among Virginia’s ‘Fantastic 50’ is an honor. Even in a very challenging economy, it demonstrates that we’re continuing to expand our markets and grow our product line. We’re very pleased by this recognition,” said Scott Trainum, ICG’s chief executive officer. “Continuing a positive growth trend while the overall economy stagnates means we have to be efficient and innovative. The only way we can be efficient and innovative is to employ talented and capable people so this award is a tribute to them,” he added.
